History of Dubuis
The year was 1866, Catholic Bishop Claude Marie Dubuis had returned to his native France seeking religious nurses willing to travel with him to Texas. He issued a call: "Our Lord Jesus Christ, suffering in the persons of a multitude of sick and infirm of every kind, seeks relief at your hands." In Lyons, Bishop Dubuis found three volunteers for his mission: Sister Blandine, Sister Ange and Sister Joseph. Together, the Sisters established a new branch of the Incarnate Word and embarked upon a mission of ministering to the sick.
