Administrator: Joan Damon View Biography
Joan Damon was appointed as Administrator of the St. Louis facility in 2008. Joan – who is also a registered nurse – has served in positions of increasing responsibility and scope, both in Nursing Management and Hospital Operations. Prior to joining the St. Louis facility, Joan served as the CEO of the Triumph LTACH hospital in Tomball, Texas. Joan graduated from Charity School of Nursing in New Orleans and earned her B.S. degree at St. Joseph’s College in Wyndham, Maine. She earned her MBA with a focus in Health Care Management at Our Lady of the Lake University in Houston, Texas.

Dr. Evelio Sardina is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Pulmonary Diseases. Dr. Sardina received his medical degree from the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa, Florida. His internship in Internal Medicine was done at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Sardina’s residency in Pulmonary diseases and Critical Care was completed at Washington University – Barnes – Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

CHRISTUS Dubuis Hospital of St. Louis is located within the Cedars at the JCA,
an elegant skilled care community in the St. Louis metropolitan area. The long
term acute care facility originally opened in October 2000 under the
administration of All Saints Healthcare. By July 2005 CHRISTUS Dubuis Health
System assumed management of the All Saints Healthcare facility, and
changed the name to CHRISTUS Dubuis Hospital of St. Louis. Today the facility has
a total of 54 long-term acute care beds to provide care to medically complex
patients. These patients require extended acute care hospitalization with
specialty programs focusing on ventilator dependency, wound care, and
rehabilitation. Services provided by CHRISTUS Dubuis Hospital of St. Louis include,
but are not limited to, the following: 24-hour nursing care, acute and post-ICU
medical care, ventilator care and weaning with 24-hour respiratory care, wound
care, comprehensive inpatient physical, occupational, and speech
rehabilitation, cardiac monitoring, IV therapy, blood transfusions, dialysis,
therapeutic nutritional support, pain management, case management, social work
services, patient and family education.
